Travel Rule Regulation in Taiwan

Taiwan's crypto Travel Rule obligation is written into Article 7 of the Regulations Governing Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism for Enterprises or Persons Providing Virtual Asset Services (the VASP AML/CFT Regulations) — but it isn't in force yet.

On 4 August 2026, Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) pre-announced a draft amendment to Article 7, published in the Executive Yuan Gazette on 13 August 2026 for public comment. The FSC has said it expects a phased rollout: domestic VASP-to-VASP transfers from October 2026, extending to cross-border transfers by the end of 2027.
