National Competent Authority (NCA)
An NCA is a government or regulatory body designated within a specific jurisdiction to oversee compliance with financial and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, including the Crypto Travel Rule. NCAs enforce local laws, issue guidance, and monitor Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) to ensure they meet global and domestic requirements for transparency, customer due diligence, and transaction reporting. They play a crucial role in fostering trust, mitigating financial crime, and aligning national practices with international standards like those set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
